What is PLASMA FIBROBLAST and how does it work?

Plasma Fibroblast is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a plasma pen device to deliver plasma energy to the skin to create minor controlled injuries. This process stimulates the fibroblast cells to produce more collagen and elastin (essential proteins for healthy, youthful-looking skin) to repair the skin. As the skin heals, it can become tighter & firmer. Plasma Pen Therapy is well recognised as a fast and effective way of removing benign skin lesions, such as skin tags, and the preferred method for tattoo removal. (The pen device creates heat and will sublimate the skin, removing the unwanted lesion/tattoo.)

What can be removed with Plasma Pen Therapy?

Written confirmation from a GP or dermatologist may be required to ensure the lesion(s) is/are benign.
  • Skin tags
  • Moles (benign)
  • Cherry Angioma
Xanthelasma (yellow fatty deposits often found around the eye area)
  • Pigmentation (Liver spots, freckles, etc.)

Plasma Pen Lesion Removal

  1. Consultation: Schedule a consultation. This is so that the trained practitioner can assess the lesion, discuss your medical history, and determine if you are a suitable candidate for plasma pen treatment.
  2. Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure to the treatment area for at least two weeks before the procedure. Sunburned or tanned skin can increase the risk of complications.
  3. Avoid Skin Products: Refrain from using skincare products that contain active ingredients like retinoids or alpha hydroxy acids for a few days before treatment, as they may increase skin sensitivity.
  4. Inform Your Practitioner: Inform your practitioner about any medications, allergies, or skin conditions you have. They may need to adjust the treatment plan accordingly.
  1. Follow Aftercare Guidelines: Adhere to the specific aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner. This may include keeping the treated area clean and dry.
  2. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight, and use sunscreen with high SPF if you need to be outdoors. Sun exposure can cause hyperpigmentation.
  3. Avoid Makeup: Avoid applying makeup or skincare products to the treated area until it has fully healed.
  4. Scabbing and Crusting: Expect scabbing and crusting to develop, which is a normal part of the healing process. Do not pick at the scabs, as this can lead to scarring.
  5. Hydration: Keep the treated area well-hydrated with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser recommended by your practitioner.
  6. Follow-up Appointments: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments with your practitioner to monitor your healing progress and address concerns.

Plasma Pen Tattoo Removal

  1. Consultation: Schedule a consultation with a trained practitioner to assess the tattoo, discuss your medical history, and determine if plasma pen tattoo removal is suitable for you (skin type, type of tattoo, and size)

  2. Avoid Sun Exposure: As with lesion removal, minimize sun exposure to the tattooed area for at least two weeks before the procedure.

  3. Skin Assessment: Ensure the skin around the tattoo is in good condition, without active skin conditions like infections or inflammation.
  4. Prepare Mentally: Be prepared for multiple treatment sessions (1-3 per area), as tattoo removal often requires several sessions for complete removal (depending on size and various factors).
  1. Follow Aftercare Instructions: Adhere strictly to the aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner. This may include keeping the treated area clean and avoiding certain activities.
  2. Expect Changes: Understand that the tattoo will not disappear immediately after one session. It will gradually fade over multiple sessions (depending on a few factors).
  3. Skin Reactions: Expect some skin reactions, such as redness, swelling, or blistering, which are normal but should be reported to your practitioner if severe.
  4. Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from exposure, as UV radiation can worsen side effects and hinder healing.
  5. Scabbing and Crusting: Similar to lesion removal, anticipate scabbing and crusting. Do not pick at scabs to prevent scarring.
  6. Follow-Up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to track the tattoo removal progress and discuss the need for additional sessions. Click here for the specific homecare advice and instructions.
